Abstract
Robotics is at the heart of the Tactile Internet, enabling human–robot interactions that are safe, trustworthy, and efficient. This chapter explores various facets of assistive collaborative robotics within the Tactile Internet context, including assistive cyber-physical systems, mobile assistive robotics, social robotics, and trust-building between humans and robots. It covers topics such as adaptive controllers for mobile robotics, hybrid simulation and verification of mobile robot collectives, endowing robotic systems with human-like manipulation capabilities, as well as machine-learning techniques for cobotic collectives. The chapter emphasises the importance of trustworthiness, sovereignty, and sustainability in the development of assistive cobotic teams for the Tactile Internet, considering safety, correctness, and explainability as essential attributes.
